Phil Thompson Phil Thompson is a business executive and Christian Zionist, and is founder of the Watchman Forum. The Watchman Forum is an early warning service monitoring extreme Islam in the Middle East and throughout the World. Phil spent his entire business career working for a large family owned distribution business headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Phil served as CEO of Industrial Supply Company from 1982-2010. He currently serves as Chairman. Phil was a founding member and chairman of the Utah chapter of Young Presidents. Phil served as Chairman of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah from 2006-2008. EDCU is a private/public partnership focused on creating investment and jobs for the State of Utah. Phil also works for the Governor’s Office for Economic Development as a mentor in for the ”Mentor-Protégé” program to help minority owned business become 8-A certified. Phil served on the boards of Wells Fargo Bank, Ballet West, Ski Utah, the Shea Family Foundation, the Christian Center of Park City, YMCA, and the National a Ability Center. Phil was also a founding member of the “Governors Counsel for Physical Fitness.” In April 2016, Phil was inducted into the Park City Ski Team Hall of Fame. In March of 2000 Phil was appointed to serve as Venue Chairman for Deer Valley for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. He also served on the board of the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation from 1998-2006. Phil was twice nominated as Entrepreneur of the Year in Utah Industrial Supply was also honored by its trade publication, Industrial Distribution Magazine as one of the four outstanding distributors of the last 100 years. Phil served as Chaplain for the University of Utah Football from 2003-2012. He is also a “Total Quality Expert” and “Lean Enterprise” advocate. Phil lives in Park City, Utah and is active in his Church and community.
